A year ago I weighed 269 lbs. I had my surgery on October 7, 2015 and today I weigh 213 lbs. The lap band has definitely been a helpful tool in my weight loss journey. This has not been an easy journey but seeing results keeps me motivated. I am now walking/jogging 5 km almost every day along with jumping jacks, sit-ups, planks and squats. I am also taking a kickboxing class once a week with my daughter. My eating habits have changed tremendously and I am quite surprised how now, I don’t crave the things I used to.
I am fitting into old clothes again and am down a size in my work uniform. I am back to the weight I was for several years prior to gaining the extra 50 lbs. So now my journey is really beginning. Going forward, any weight loss will be even more rewarding as I will be over the hurdle.
