My gastric surgery has changed my life. I am no longer pre-diabetic; my sleep apnea is gone and I am now on one hypertension med instead of three. I am down 55lbs and in the best shape of my life! Even smaller than I was in High school (every woman’s benchmark 🙂 Pretty impressive for a 45 year-old, I think. I had already made a commitment to the gym for the year preceding the surgery and the weight loss has just been a motivator to continue to grow stronger. I participated in the Tough Mudder in Sept; a 16km obstacle course in the mud. It was the most physically demanding challenge of my life but I did it and have committed to making it an annual event.
This surgery was the best investment I ever made in myself. I feel confident in myself for the first time in 15 years and finally feel like I’m not hiding. Thanks for everything!
