The Band changed my life and I am very thankful that it changed so many things in the medical area - no more sleep apnea, no more mask at night, stopped my diabetes, no more high blood pressure. I'm able to shop in a regular clothing store and finally liking myself which is so important. I was the first one that the SmartShape surgeon operated on in 2005 and I have kept the weight off.

From my first contact with them, through to my phone consult with the surgeon, to my surgery and beyond, the centre has been supportive, professional and caring. I highly recommend them and appreciate their ongoing support and encouragement. I paid for the surgery myself and have been very happy with my choice.

SmartShape is a wonderful company full of people who actually care. They email and call and email and call and even when it starts to get annoying, you remember that it is out of caring and compassion and assurance that you know they are here for you from here on out!

Lap Band surgery was not a choice for me in British Columbia, I am six years beyond the upper age limit.  But I’m a determined old lady and from the moment the surgeon said that he could do the surgery in Ontario, I was ready to walk there if necessary. I’m glad I didn’t have to walk and I’m very glad I had the surgery. All the staff have been wonderful, patient, supportive and prompt. The pre-surgery portion of the program is the hardest part by far. The surgery itself uncomplicated, and recovery very quick. I’ve had no issues with heartburn, vomiting or food intolerance of any kind. Six months and three days from surgery, I have lost 79 lbs. and I’m thrilled, and far, far healthier. Thanks everyone, for your part in this amazing journey.

I have met many people that have had surgery at this clinic. I have heard nothing but good things about the doctor, clinic and the staff.

I found the staff very helpful and caring. the surgeon is awesome! The facility is spotless and I felt very safe and secure there before my surgery.
