Since 2005, our team has been comprised of leading bariatric surgeons and healthcare professionals, including one of Canada’s certified bariatric nurse.
But have you met our OR Nurse lead at SmartShape?
Debbie Gallagher, a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) at the SmartShape Weight Loss Centre, joined the clinic in 2006 and has been an integral part of the SmartShape team. Her dedication in providing high quality care to patients with compassion and understanding has made her patient favourite.
She began her nursing career in 1981 after graduating from the Royal Cornwall School of Nurses in the UK. She is certified in Otorhinolaryngology, Pharmacology and Theory of Administration. In 1987, Debbie completed her Canadian RPN equivalency exam and has been in patient-care ever since.
We asked Debbie why you love working at SmartShape, she replied “I love working with patients and seeing them achieve their goals. It means the programs that we have developed and resources we have available to patients work and it’s proven. I love the team. There’s a family atmosphere here.” When Debbie is not at SmartShape she spends her time cooking, knitting, reading books and taking her daughter to hockey games!
