Welcome Back Summer! We missed you!
Here are some tips for summertime cooking that is healthy and safe for the family.
- Clean your grill: Get the best out of your grill by cleaning it well with a grill cleaning brush, before and after grilling your food. Applying a thin layer of vegetable oil or using a grill wipe before you begin cooking can prevent sticking of some foods.
- Marinate: Marinating the meat helps reduce carcinogens. Always keep meats refrigerated during the marinating process.
- Keep it Hot: The secret to grilling is having the right temperature. If you plan to use propane, you can easily control the temperature of the grill. If you use charcoal, give it plenty of time to get an even white ash. The coal should not have any visible black pieces or too many glowing red pieces.
- Go Meatless: Go beyond meat and try grilling other foods such as fruits and vegetables. These taste delicious when grilled and they are a rich nutrient.
