I thought you might appreciate this small update. When I began preparing for the SmartShape program in July my weight was 286 pounds. I then began my pre-op program, and had surgery on August 24, by which time I had already lost a fair amount of weight. Today I weighed in at 186 pounds (I am 5'10" tall). I've lost 100 pounds since July - a huge accomplishment that you all played a big role in. This is the lowest I have weighed since high school (I am 53 years old). I feel a lot better, I've come off 3 diabetes medications and my blood sugar is great. I definitely view my decision to have a mini gastric bypass as a good one. I'll send you some progress photos sometime in the New Year. thanks to all of you and happy holidays.

Dear SmartShape Surgeon and all members of your team! I can't thank you enough for everything you have done for me from the moment I contacted SmartShape till today, which is 4 weeks after my surgery. Very high level of professionalism and kind hearts of all of you. The SmartShape Surgeon is nicest person and highly educated and knowledgeable in his field. He answered all my questions before surgery and took very good care of me after surgery, explaining all details of surgery and making sure my recovery time is nice and easy. Thank you very much! I am feeling great and doing well. I have lost 106 pounds to date. Weight loss has slowed and had a few stalls but overall still continuing to lose. I have been able to do a lot of things this summer that I have not been able to do for several years, like hunting and fishing at my favourite places, that were too far and hard to get to the last 3 or 4 years. Should have had this done earlier. Thank you for making this possible again.

Just giving an update. I am 86 pounds down and loving it! I have been running for 5 months now and am training for my first triathlon! So grateful for all the clinic did for me.

I have had my band now for a few years, just over 4 years. My weight loss has been slow, about 3/4 of a pound per month, but I have been very happy that it has been consistent weight loss along with no gaining. I recently had some liquid taken out of my band and I feel great. I didn't realize that my band was too tight, but over time I was starting to get more and more things stuck. Since getting that slight amount of liquid out, just a few weeks ago, I am down 8 lbs which is the fastest I have lost since getting the band put in. I have somewhere between 20 and 30 to go but I feel great. Food no longer controls my life.
Thank you so much for continuing to reach out via email and thank you so much for all the assistance over the past 4 and a half years. Getting the band was the best decision I could have made for my health. If I could change one thing, it would be to have gotten my band sooner!

Can you pass along to the team that I am doing great and almost 4 months in, I am down 96 pounds and I know the other 4 will be gone by end of year - so I have reached my first goal, or the halfway point, and I feel like a million bucks!

The whole procedure was much easier than I ever anticipated. I haven't regretted having the bypass for one minute. Wish I'd known about this option years ago.
