The care was top notch! I was shocked when the surgeon called me the next day to check up on how I was doing and if I had any questions or concerns. The nursing staff was nothing short of wonderful! They listened and were super helpful.---Patricia

Best decision was to go with my surgeon and his team. He put me at ease right away. Surgery happened very quickly and has been nothing but a positive experience. I had previously been in the Bariatric Network program at a GTA hospital and did not have a good experience (didn’t make it to surgery-was discouraged by attitudes of staff). I am thrilled with my weight loss journey so far through SmartShape, along with my scheduled appointments I feel free to reach out to the team at any time. My primary care provider is also thrilled at the health benefits that have been a result of my weight loss surgery: A1C now in the normal range, cholesterol now in the normal range, and resting heart rate and blood pressure both reduced. For me, this journey has been about my health more than my looks and I feel 1000% better than I did 6 months ago. With almost 200 pounds to lose at the beginning of my journey, I had doubts as to how successful I would be. But 6 months post op and 120 pounds down from my pre-op weight, those doubts are gone. I am still working on my eating habits and my relationship with food, but the habits of a lifetime do not disappear in 6 months. I can however say that SmartShape has given me the tools to be successful in my weight loss and I now do believe I can do it. ---Sandi

I am thankful for the opportunity to have been able to travel to Toronto for surgery with my surgeon. The wait for surgery in my province with public health would of been years, especially with ongoing surgery cancellations due to the pandemic. My care was pre and post op has been amazing. Everyone pre op was amazing. All the nurses, dieticians, and patient coordinators were super helpful and answered all my questions and concerns! My post op nurses were quite honestly some of the best caregivers I have ever had. They made sure I was well taken care of and were amazing. I am 100% happy with my surgery and hospital recovery.
