I am almost 4 months post op, and I just found your Facebook page...crazy I didn’t look for it before! lol I wanted to extend my sincere gratitude to the SmartShape Surgeon and his amazing team, I feel absolutely fantastic and today I reached the half way mark for my personal goal weight. :-)

I've had my ups and downs, but I am no longer pre-diabetic, my blood pressure has leveled, and I have finally been able to run and play with my kids! This has truly saved my life. I’m a ways from my goal, but know I will make it - 82.5lbs to go! True to my team, I am using my new extremely big Jays Jersey to track my progress....going to need a new one soon! :-)

Everything went well from pre-op to post-op with SmartShape. It was encouraging to meet and work with such supportive people, from the Surgeon to the nursing staff, coordinators and everyone else in between!

As an FYI I had my surgery March 23 and I am down 90 pounds as of today. Feeling GREAT! I certainly couldn't have swum with my grandson 6 months ago, and to enjoy active time with the grandkids was on my bucket list as I started to lose weight.

Overall I am highly satisfied with the care I received and with my outcome thus far. The staff were very approachable, knowledgeable, supportive, and passionate about their work (particularly Diana). The Surgeon was also very approachable, conveyed a caring attitude, a confident air, and addressed all my concerns. I felt safe and secure in his care. My anesthetist (?name) was also excellent and did a fantastic job with putting my mind at ease prior to my procedure. He also delivered an excellent anesthetic. I would definitely recommend the SmartShape clinic to a family member or friend if they were to consider bariatric surgery.

I had my MGB surgery almost 3 months ago. I started this journey weighing in at 270 lbs. Now, I'm at 200 lbs, and still making progress.
I have followed the pre-op and post-op instructions/guidance religiously, and I continue to follow the guidance provided by SmartShape in the "food guide" and "MGB Patient Guide". I just completed the first of the two mandatory webinars with the Registered Dietitian at SmartShape this morning and it was good for reinforcing many of the principles in the written material already provided.
My biggest learning I think has been properly combining foods at each meal: "protein + fibre = satiety". I am also remaining diligent about portion size, timing, and quality vs. quantity, but for me it is the proper combination of food groups at each meal is what has been my biggest learning. I really spent a lot of time reading the food guide and other materials you provided, and doing my best to follow this direction, and it has really made a big difference I believe to my success so far.
I've already dropped 6 inches from my waist, I'm down two sizes in blazers, and my shirts are also down two sizes. I am feeling better than I have in years, with more energy and a positive outlook.
I know it’s early days yet with this surgery, recovery and the progression still to come. But I really feel like this has given me a new lease on life. I so much appreciate what this procedure, along with the information and support, has done for me.

From the very beginning of my journey to now, 2 weeks post-op, all of the staff, nurses and doctors at SmartShape have done an outstanding job to ensure that my procedure and recovery be as smooth as possible. I have absolutely no complaints. I feel great and I'm excited to start this new journey! My ONLY suggestion is that the post-op webinars be offered at different times: I'm already back at work now and I can't access them at 9:30am and 1:30pm on weekdays - I only get 30 mins for lunch and the timing just isn't right. Other than that, everything is great. I've received follow-up calls from the surgeon and from the nurses and I have an appointment booked with SmartShape to check on my progress and incisions. Very very well organized healthcare centre and I'm very pleased with everything so far. Let's hope my new tiny tummy agrees! Thank you.

I was blown away with the level of care and professionalism that was provided by all of the medical staff. Any questions I had were answered. The staff also took the time to introduce themselves to me before the procedure. I highly recommend SmartShape.
