I had the bypass July 11 - 2017, am down 50 lbs in 20 weeks - life changing!

I was very happy with the overall care I was given at the clinic/hospital. I truly think that the public health service could learn a lot by observing the quality of service I was given. Could I have had this service done through OHIP at no cost? Yes! BUT not with the attention to detail as the SmartShape Surgeon and his team provided. Any complaints? One very small one - in the Patients' rooms, you need to put the toilet paper dispenser beside the toilet, not behind it.

I learned about SmartShape and met the Surgeon for the first time in 2015. This Surgeon is very professional and spends as much time as you need for a consult. She gave me many details about all available procedures. After other unsuccessful diet attempts, I decided on Lap-Band surgery in 2017. Both SmartShape Surgeons were very thorough with the preparation and the procedure itself. There were no complications and I am healing well at home. I also received great pre- and post-op care from the nurse team at False Creek Healthcare Centre. SmartShape staff are very effective in their help. Thank you everyone for your professional care! I've already lost 30 pounds since my pre-op and I'm looking forward to a healthier life.

One week after MGB surgery, I can say that this has been a very positive experience for me and I feel very lucky to have found the SmartShape surgeon to help me on my way to a new life free of my food addiction. If I had any doubts before the operation - I am now completely confident that I did the right thing and I had the right surgeon for the job. From start to finish this has been an amazing journey so far. My care was in the best hands possible. I hugged one of my nurses when I left, she was so lovely! My only regret I have, is not having done this sooner.

It has been one month since my gastric sleeve surgery and I have lost 30 pounds and counting. I feel like a new man. I want to thank all the staff for the wonderful support they gave me. I also need to apologize to more than one of the nurses as I was rather miserable the day after surgery. I think it was a reaction to the drugs as I am usually a very easygoing person.

Today I feel great! So happy with my decision. Keep up the great work!

The staff and surgeon spent lots of time going through various options and answering questions over the 9 months I was considering the surgery. Everyone was super responsive and helpful without pressure.

Special shoutout to the post op nurses that made my one night stay absolutely amazing. The staff are second to none.

I was afraid before the surgery since I had never had anesthesia or surgery. The staff made my experience amazing on the day of surgery. The nurse were so attentive and caring. It really helped take away a lot of the worry that I had felt.

The Surgeon and staff at SmartShape have been nothing short of fantastic! I very much appreciated the post-op phone calls to check on my well-being ... from the Surgeon, the anesthetist, the nurses, and the nutritionist.
